coming home

i'm home at last
on my island
on my own
i'm home

i whisper
no one will hear
no one need hear
i'm home to me
all to myself
all by myself

i'm home
and that's where
i want to be

going home

one step
one foot after the other
the vision clear
the path clear
ahead
far ahead
not far
near
nearer
the journey will end
and begin

feeling light
happy
joyous
each step
step by step
nearer nearer there

criss-cross lives
FATE
determined
designed
executed
etched
a life that was
a life that is
a life that will be

one step
one foot after the other
the journey be done
going home
being home
am home

my shadow and i

how we dance
if we can
in tune with each other
in time

when we dance
arm in arm
cheek to cheek
close close
as one

we float
we swing
we glide
we move
as only we can
if only we can
one day we can

how we dance
when we can
in tune with each other
in time

greener pastures

far far away
the dream beckons
come away come away
i wait

i see
i like
i want
take me away
let me go

beneath me glitter gems
i see not
too near
too familiar
my heart's closed too

look down
look near
see what you have
SEE what you have
no need to go
you have enough.

the cockerel says

it's not yet dawn
the cockerel says
the stars stay lit
my work has yet to begin

under the black black night
i wait
the cockerel says
my time will come
have patience
there's work to be done

count the stars
the cockerel says
or the black in between
but count them
and make them count

the dark and the bright
two sides of a star
to see the light
witness the black
to dwell in the dark
enjoy the light

dawn awaits
as dusk awaits
one into the other
the other into one
ever starting
ever ending
only to begin again

it's not yet dawn
the cockerel says
the stars stay lit
my work has yet to begin

oh to be a child again

oh to be a child again
leaving footprints in the sand
echoing laughter in the wind

nothing is too many times
no one is too tired out
again is never enough
once more is too little

oh to be a child again
chasing shadows in the sand
dancing circles in the sun

crying is never too weak
no one is way too brave
again is starting over
once more is not too much

oh to be a child again
building castles in the sand
losing battles in the tide

again the castle rises
no walls too high to build
again the tides rush in
once more the castle's ruined

oh to be a child again
leaving footprints in the sand
echoing laughter in the wind

broken shells

broken shells
lying in the sand
bearing the hot sun
basking in emptiness

hollowed out
dried
died
a cracked form

broken shells
waiting in the sand
waiting
to return to nature
one once again

emptied out
dead
died
a brittle home

broken shells
lying in the sand
bearing the hot sun
basking in brokenness
